Michel Breton is an artist designer born in Québec.  He has an extensive experience designing the look and the backgrounds of animated movies. Always on a look out for interesting projects, Michel thrives on artistic challenges. His experience ranges from stop motion award winning projects to 2-d animation features, shorts and made for tv movies.

The latest notable project was “The Boxtrolls” as concept artist.  He worked closely with Anthony Stacchi and Graham Annable during its development stage before moving on to production. The Boxtrolls was awarded an Annie award in 2015 for the production design category of which Michel’s work was credited for its distinctive look by his colleagues. Prior, he worked on Coraline with Henry Selick as illustrator and matte painter.

As head of Fourmirouge Animation, he helped set up the film crew of “Beavis and Butt-Head Do America”. He was instrumental in the creative development of “The Triplets of Belleville” before parting ways with its director.  He worked with legendary animation director Chuck Jones as art director. He collaborated on several projects with the National Film Board of Canada such as “Noël Noël”, with Nicola Lemay, “Une minute de science” and provided artistic direction to several Mini Wheats commercials.
